Oral Surgery

Oral and maxillofacial surgery (or oral surgery) performed in our clinic deals with the extraction of erupted teeth, residual roots, impacted or semi-impacted teeth in the jawbones. Particular attention is paid to the removal of lower third molars: these teeth frequently have very close relationships with extremely delicate anatomical structures, such as the inferior alveolar nerve and the lingual nerve, which must be safeguarded during the extraction procedure. For this reason, such interventions involve careful planning based on radiological analysis to accurately assess the entire anatomical area, followed by personalised pre-operative pharmacological medication to effectively control post-operative symptoms. Additionally, procedures such as apicoectomy, which involves the removal of the apex of teeth involved in inflammatory processes and not treatable by traditional endodontic therapy, and the removal of growths such as cysts, papillomas, or fibromas, are performed. A significant portion of outpatient surgical activity is dedicated to implantology. Often, it is necessary to surgically intervene to modify an anatomical area to enable treatment through implant insertion: sinus lifting procedures, vertical and horizontal bone regeneration, as well as soft tissue reconstruction around implants, are performed. Special attention is also given to the surgical treatment of bone deficits caused by periodontitis: this condition, by destroying the supporting bone of the teeth, can lead to the loss of the teeth themselves. Our intention is to strive as much as possible for conservative and regenerative therapies for these defects in order to preserve the affected teeth.

The position assumed by the tooth has resulted in several abscess episodes accompanied by pain.
For its removal, it was necessary to lift a flap and separate the element.
Removal is necessary as it tends to increase in volume, causing discomfort during chewing.
Healing at the follow-up after 30 days of removal.
Cystic formation affecting the lower incisor group.
Bone regeneration after removal of the cystic formation.
