ORAL PATHOLOGY

Oral pathology refers to the extensive branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that can develop in the oral cavity, or have some of their main manifestations in the oral cavity, or still be expressions of pharmacological therapies that the patient is undergoing. Among these are, just to mention a few cases, aphthous ulcers, herpetic infections, syphilis, some autoimmune diseases, some allergic forms (for example, to dental amalgam or other dental materials), oral neoplasms, and oral lesions from medications.

The fundamental aspect is represented by the intraoral objective examination that must be conducted with the utmost attention in order to identify signs and symptoms at their onset.

When necessary, we take care of performing biopsy sampling and arranging for the required histological examinations (at the Pathological Anatomy of the Bellaria Hospital) for diagnostic purposes.
